"The Italian Game"

Out of nearly 300 entries, Tara's short story "The Italian Game" was one of 40 chosen for publication in the Monterey County Weekly's annual 101-word short story contest. You can read it at the link below.

"A Shot of Grace"

Dreambridge Publishing received over 100 entries for their 2024 anthology "Trouble in Paradise." My short story “A Shot of Grace” was one of 20 selected for publication. The anthology is available in paperback on Amazon and will soon be available as an ebook as well.

Chapman University's art and literary magazine, Ouroboros, publishes fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and other speculative fiction genres. Tara's short story "The Eighth Sea" was published in the Spring 2022 issue.

Chapman University's art and literary magazine, Ouroboros, publishes fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and other speculative fiction genres. Tara's short story "Hearts and Half-Flesh" was published in the Fall 2021 issue.

"Air it out"

"Renewal"

Chapman University's art and literary magazine, Ouroboros, publishes fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and other speculative fiction genres. Tara's short story "Renewal" was published in the Spring 2021 issue.

"White"

Tara's piece of flash fiction, "White," was published in the Fall 2020 issue of Chapman University's art and literary magazine, Calliope. She also served as an editorial board member for three years, one of which as the Publicity Manager as well. She was the Editor-in-Chief of Calliope for the Fall 2021 semester.

60 Seconds

60 Seconds Online Magazine is a digital magazine of articles designed to be read in 60 seconds or less. Tara wrote for the Lifestyle and Entertainment tabs for two years. She was also the Lifestyle editor for one year. You can read her articles at the link below.

"Luck Be A Lady"

In 2018, Tara's short story "Luck Be A Lady" written in response to this photo prompt, was a semi-finalist in the Central Coast Writer's 2018 Writing Contest.

Teen Anthology: Quote the Raven

In 2018, Tara had one non-fiction essay and two pieces of flash fiction published in the 2nd volume of the Monterey Public Library's Teen Anthology: Quote the Raven. You can read them by downloading the pdf using the button below or visiting the library in person and borrowing the book.

"Laceneck"

Tara's poem "Laceneck" was a Topical Winner for the Live Poets Society of New Jersey 2018 Contest. The poem was published in an anthology with the rest of the winners.

"Nine Ways of Listening to Music"

Tara's poem "Nine Ways of Listening to Music" was one of the winners of the 25th Annual Robert Campbell Monterey High School Poetry Award in 2018, held by the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts. The poem was published in a physical book along with the other winners' work.

"One Picture Says It All"

In 2017, Tara's short story "One Picture Says It All" written in response to this photo prompt, was an Honorable Mention in the Central Coast Writer's 2017 Writing Contest.
