Tara Mann
Ever since she learned how to read, Tara has loved stories. She began writing at a very young age with short one-page stories, and as she matured, her writing became more sophisticated. She now has written multiple novels with many more planned that she hopes to publish. She is currently querying agents for her fantasy novels.
In high school, Tara expanded her love of writing by working as a staff member for her school's literary magazine, Mosaic, eventually becoming the Senior Editor. This sparked an interest in publishing, which led her to join Chapman University's Calliope Art & Literary Magazine as an Editorial Board member for three years, spending one of them as the Publicity Manager. She was the Editor-in-Chief for Calliope's Fall 2021 issue which was designated as "Superior" in the 2022 Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines Awards. She also interned at the 60 Seconds Online Magazine as a Lifestyle and Entertainment writer for two years, as well as working as the Lifestyle editor for one year.
Tara studied Creative Writing at Chapman University, focusing on fantasy and science fiction short stories and novels. She minored in Computer Science, which allowed her to learn programming languages, code simple games, and experiment with 3D printing. She loves finding new ways to combine the two subjects, which she has already done through a few text-based choose-your-own-adventure games and, from 2021 to 2023, an internship with SAP Ariba as a technical writer.
Tara has spent her free time performing in live musical theatre productions since 2011. She specializes as a soprano singer and tap dancer. She has performed in 20+ productions, along with working backstage as a spotlight or soundboard operator for another 10+ productions. Recently, she started learning Aerial Silks. She has also vocally directed two musical productions.
