Okay, I think this is the last Tricia Levenseller book I'll review for a while. All the others haven't been released yet. As usual, I loved it!

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller tells the story of Rasmira Bendrauggo, warrior and heir to her village of Seravin. She has trained her whole life to succeed her father and lead her town, but when her coming-of-age trial is sabotaged, she is banished to the wild with an impossible quest. In order to return and reclaim her honor, she must kill the god Peruxolo, who demands tribute from the villages each year and kills without mercy. Out in the wild, she meets two other outcasts—Soren and Iric—with their own impossible challenges. With their help, Rasmira must decide which is more important—protecting herself from ever being betrayed again or returning home and righting the wrongs done to her.

This book has all my favorite elements: a strong female character, exciting action, fun supporting characters, and a sprinkling of romance. When Rasmira's test was sabotaged, I felt her outrage so strongly as if it were my own. Each decision she made following her banishment, even if I disagreed with it, made complete sense for her character and experiences. The villain was compelling and the mystery intriguing, and I loved discovering his secrets alongside Rasmira.

While I do love subplot romances like the one found in this book, part of me wished it wasn't there. Without giving too much away, the early events of the book made me hope that Rasmira would not find a romantic partner and instead remain on her own as a strong, capable woman. That being said, I still enjoyed the eventual romance, which did not diminish Rasmira's character.

I rate Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller 5/5 stars. If you're a fan of YA fantasy or Levenseller's other books, take a look!
